Tennyson // Completed

Our grandest project yet. This project pushed every part of our team. Design. Engineering. Construction. Logistics. Craftsmanship.

We started by removing an existing deck. We rebuilt all posts and bearers, changed levels and sizing. Every structural element was reworked. The result is a deck that feels effortless but demanded precision at every step.

A major challenge was the backyard itself. We designed and constructed multiple levels to make the space usable. That work included extensive retaining walls and careful integration with the existing home and river outlook.

Access defined this build. There was no access from the top of the property. All machinery arrived by barge. All materials arrived by barge. All waste left by barge. Every decision had to account for this constraint. It added time. It added complexity. It raised the bar for planning.

The finished result makes it worth it.

One of the standout features is the floating concrete stairs. They connect levels visually and physically without overwhelming the space. They appear throughout the property and tie the design together. The spa sits perfectly within the landscape. It frames the river view and creates a place to slow down. It is a space designed for real use, not just for photos.

Brad and Rachel have been clients for over ten years. This move was a big shift. From acreage in Brookfield to a riverfront property in Tennyson. Space for their children was non negotiable. The level changes allowed us to maximise usable area. We created zones for play and movement. The backyard now includes a trampoline and a jungle gym without compromising the overall design.

Rachel loves cottage gardens. That preference shaped the planting design. She was deeply involved throughout the process. We created Corten ring gardens with her favourite fruit trees. These are under planted with herbs and classic cottage plants. The result feels layered, personal, and lived in.

The pool is my favourite part of the project. It was designed and installed by Rogers Pools. No machinery access. No shortcuts. The execution is exceptional. The pool sits naturally within the landscape and elevates the entire property.

This project ran for over a year. The consistency and commitment from the team never wavered. The finishes are precise. The detailing is sharp. Every element aligns. Thank you to Brad and Rachel for their trust and long term support. This project reflects what is possible when clients and builders work together over time.

I am proud of this team. I am proud of this project. I am grateful to share it with you.
Always,
Brooke
