Landscaping for athletes goes far beyond aesthetics and entertaining areas. It’s an essential tool which directly impacts recovery and performance.
What better place for a wellness retreat than your own doorstep?
Being able to return home each day to a space that recharges you between training sessions, to help you achieve peak performance time and time again is the driving force behind many of our design choices on this project.
Well known for relieving muscle soreness, reducing swelling and boosting circulation, a circular plunge pool becomes the main focal point for the design. Surrounded by Kahvi Limestone for warmth, floating circular stairs lead into the plunge pool, tiled in premium stonework.
Stepping out of the plunge pool across large format Kahvi steppers is an outdoor shower with copper fittings for elegance and warmth.
Installed just across from the plunge pool will be an mPulse Aspire infrared sauna. Renowned for an amplitude of health benefits, it’s an absolute must have!
Unlike traditional saunas, Infra Red technology reduces inflammation and supports muscle and tissue recovery on a cellular level. With deeper absorption and several wavelength settings to choose from, there are even more health benefits for faster recovery and even deeper relaxation.
It was important to integrate the entertainment area within the recovery space for hosting gatherings and maintaining a relaxed resort style atmosphere. Seamlessly enclosing the plunge pool with glass pool fencing delivers a continuous feel throughout.
To define the dining area, sculptural concrete seating offers functionality and a strong architectural element. Of course no dining area is complete without a built in BBQ to refuel. This section is enclosed with Ekodeck screening and a wire trellis to support a Stephanotis floribunda vine with gorgeous white flowers throughout the warmer months.
To complete the wellness zone, we’ve completely nestled the space with a gorgeous plant palette full of movement and life. Low maintenance plants have been selected throughout as well as opting for porcelain tiles so there is maximum time for relaxation.
With sport running deep within our veins at Brookes Blooms, many of our foundations are built on training hard and high achievement, with a history of sporting accomplishments, and collaborations with the AFL. We pride ourselves on our optimistic outlook when it comes to challenges, rippling this same optimism across all that we do. With a firm understanding of what it takes to ‘go hard’ we were thrilled to dive in and explore ways to achieve the ultimate recovery platform for Josh and his beautiful fiancée Tippah.
