To create more privacy around a pool area in Paddington while bringing a lush tropical feel to a compact inner-city backyard. The clients wanted a refined outdoor space with layered planting, subtropical screening and a contemporary bench seat for relaxed afternoons by the pool.
Brooke’s Blooms designed a custom cantilevered screening structure using five powder-coated steel posts, fabricated to suit the space and create height along the pool boundary. Stephanotis floribunda was trained through the structure for scented seasonal flowering, while Alocasia brisbanensis, Heliconias, Ligularia, Crassula, Rhaphiolepis, Kalanchoe ‘Silver Spoons’ and Zoysia tenuifolia created layered subtropical texture. Olive Limestone tiling, Spanish Green Waterline tiles and a custom curved bench seat completed the poolside retreat.
